Sport and Security – Tackling Cyber and Physical Threats

Wed, Oct 7 (5:00pm - 6:00pm)
Online

Description

In July, the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) released a report covering “The cyber threat to Sporting organisations”. Cyber Crime poses a major threat to this sector, with 70% of sporting organisations saying they experience an attack per annum. Whilst the impact of Cyber Crime can be damaging to an organisation, the steps you can take to reduce that impact and reduce the opportunity for an attack, are very simple to implement.

We also recognise that the security focus for most sporting organisations will be physical security and staff awareness, and although Covid 19 has delayed the return of supporters attending sporting events, now is a good time to review your current security practices.

With this in mind, the South West Regional Cyber Crime Unit (SWRCCU) have partnered with South West Counter Terrorism Policing (SWCTP) to provide a security webinar for the sporting sector, where there will be a Cyber Security and Counter Terrorism input.

This webinar is intended for board members, however Security, IT and Cyber staff are also welcome. Both SWRCCU and SWCTP can provide further help for any organisation if you would like additional support or inputs after this webinar.

Registrations finish at 1400, 06/10/2020. Webinar link will be sent out on the Monday 5th October.
